Yesterday my husband made a homemade lunchable for my son. He included sliced apples, a container of peanut butter, 1/2 of a hard boiled egg, crackers by themselves (to dip in the peanut butter) and crackers with cheese slices.
My son liked this lunch because he got to eat snack type items for lunch, and we liked it because there was not all of the prepackaged waste and not quite as many artificial ingredieants as a lunchable.
(We used our Easy Lunchboxes container.)

Great lunchable bento!
Great idea! I love bento lunches too. I need to find some of those containers! Some people use the muffin tins, those are precious too.
The Easy Lunchboxes are great. We use them every day!
how do u keep the apples from browning by lunchtime?
DH adds a little salt to some water and dips the apples in there. That keeps them from browning. 🙂
I did this the other day. I even cut the turkey and cheese into shapes. As I was doing it I was TOTALLY patting myself on the back. My 8 year old came home furious with me for her “embarrassing lunch.” Apparently, cut out shapes is SO first grade. Who knew?
Funny! We never know what my son will like or dislike either. 🙂
This is great! I have been trying to make homemade lunchables for my girls….but I’m having trouble finding a container that works well…where did you find them?
We used Easy Lunchboxes. I put the link in the post since a few people asked. 🙂
I do this for myself! I like my fruits and veggies and being able to snack all day long.
LOVE this idea! My kids can’t have lunchables because of the gluten, so this is great… thanks so much for all of your lunch ideas. We’ve been in a rut lately!
