Bookworm has finished his first quarter of work, and I’ve submitted his grades. We’re taking a few weeks off before starting up again, so this week, I’ve tried to make my goals a little easier. I think we’re all going to enjoy the break.
Here’s my simplified goal list for the week:
Last Week’s Goals
Here’s what I set out to accomplish last week:
Financial
Spend two hours listing items around the house to sell.(Yes! I have sold another $10 worth of stuff. Look for a full report on Friday.)Finish updating the budget for October.
Personal
Write the blog post about our homeschool area
- Register the kids for some theater performances we plan to watch this year.
Take the kids to the library at least once this weekRead at least 3 books to the girls a day(We are reading 4 to 6 books a day.)Do at least 15 minutes of ABCMouse.com with each girl 2 to 3 days this week
Teach the girls from My Father’s World 4 days this week.(Lucky for me, PB & J Girl loves school and gets on me if I ever try to skip a day!)Have Bookworm practice his multiplication math facts on K5 Learning at least 15 minutes every dayRead 50 pages this week(I finished reading Until We Meet Again about two people who go through the Holocaust and later marry. It was a great read. Look for a review next week.)- Watch a movie with my husband (Instead of a movie, we’ve been compulsively watching 30 Rock.)
- Freeze our fresh vegetables from the garden.
Work
- Put up 2 reviews and giveaways this week
Write 5 staff writing and freelance articles this week- Make one of my top 3 posts more Pinterest friendly.

Long-Term Work Goals
These are items that I don’t expect to finish completely this week, but I’m listing them here as a reminder to myself and would like to finish them within 3 to 4 months:
- Organize the recipes on my blog
- Finish my blog redesign
- Finish my writer’s website
- Get a newsletter up and running
- Do my accounting books for July, August, and September
- Research new areas where I could freelance. (My income is composed of 3 revenue streams, and over the last 5 months, 2 of those revenue streams have proven to be highly unstable.)
- Update my blog categories
What goals do you hope to accomplish this week?
I shared this post on Money Saving Mom.

Awesome job on your goals! I don’t know if you get emails from Educents, but they have a 4 week free trial for a Reading Eggs program, and I thought of you since my baby is too young 🙂 http://readingeggs.com/educents/ Just thought I’d share – have a great week
Thanks, Ashley. I’ll have to check that out. I bet my middle child would like that.
