Not all of my goals were accomplished this week, but I did tackle one huge one I had–start a sugar detox program.  I’ll have more details about this in a later post, but it’s been something I’ve been wanting to do ever since October when I let refined sugars and gluten free grains sneak back into my diet.  Giving it up on Sunday meant that I’ve felt irritable, hungry and tired since then.  I’m starting to feel better now, though.

Last Week’s Goals

Financial

  • Have a budget meeting with my husband.  Uh, the blame for not doing this falls on me.  I’m still trying to figure out exactly where we stand financially.  Between waiting on several reimbursements from my husband’s employer for a conference and annual dues, I just don’t have it all straightened out yet.

Personal

  • Have a freezer cooking session on Saturday and make at least 15 meals.  Love having the freezer stocked again!
  • Study Japanese with the kids at least four times this week.  We are loving our new language program.  All three kids and I sit together for 15 minutes a day, slowly learning Japanese.  🙂
  • Read at least 3 books to the girls a day.
  • Do at least 15 minutes of ABCMouse.com with each girl 2 to 3 days this week.
  • Spend two hours listing things for sale on Craigslist and Mom Mail.  I did this for about 45 minutes this week.
  • Read for 30 minutes every day.  I’m getting addicted to reading again.  It’s nice.
  • Write two journal entries this week.  I wrote one journal entry.  Doing so felt a little strange, but I’m sure it’ll be easy again as I get used to it.
  • Exercise with the kids 3 times this week.  We exercised twice this week.
  • Help the kids write thank you notes for Christmas presents.

Work

  • Put up 2 reviews and/or giveaways this week.
  • Write 7 staff writing and freelance articles this week.
  • Update two posts with Pinterest friendly pictures
  • Fill out the paperwork to turn my business into an LLC.
  • Have at least 3 of my own blog posts written and scheduled for next week.  I had four written and scheduled.

This Week’s Goals

Financial

  • Have a budget meeting with my husband.
  • Decide with my husband what conferences we’ll attend in 2014.
  • Create our will.  I’ve looked into lawyers where we are, and they are very expensive–$2,000.  I looked into lawyers where my mom lives in Michigan, and they were more reasonable–$1,000, but they worried about us living in Illinois and Illinois laws.  Honestly, we don’t have the money to pay a grand or two for our will right now, so we’re going to create it on Legal Zoom.  Something is better than nothing, and we can get one professionally done in a few years when my husband has a better job and we have a house.
  • Get all the documents together to file our taxes and submit them to our accountant.
