When we first started homeschooling and reviewing for the Crew, we received access to SchoolhouseTeachers.com. We always used the site as a nice place to find extracurriculars, but my, has the site grown. . .and grown. . .and grown. The site has grown so much they now offer an Ultimate PreK-12 Annual Membership.
About the Ultimate PreK-12 Annual Membership to SchoolhouseTeachers.com
SchoolhouseTeachers.com has expanded so much that it’s now a complete curriculum for all of your homeschool children, from preK to 12th grade. Even better, at least for my family, they are increasing the number of classes that have a video lesson component! Some of our favorite programs remain ArtAchieve and Drive Thru History, but there are many other features on this site that I love.
SchoolhouseTeachers.com is in the process of creating lesson plans for every.single.course on the site! How great is that? For instance, for ArtAchieve, the lesson plans tell you what materials you need for each lesson and what to do for each day’s work, taking one thing off the homeschool parent’s list of things to do. I love anything that makes my life easier!
One of the ways I used to get homeschooling done with my oldest was to allow my preschoolers to watch an educational video. If you do that in your homeschool, or if you just don’t want to pay for streaming services that may have questionable content, SchoolhouseTeachers.com can help. They now have over 450+ videos available from RightNow Media, Vision Video, and City on a Hill, to name a few.
Flexible and Customizable Complete Curriculum
Unlike a box curriculum, with SchoolhouseTeachers.com, you can choose the courses your child is interested in. Some courses last only a few weeks, while others last a semester or an academic year. You use the many courses that are available to choose what courses are best for your children.
If you have younger students, the site has a Literacy Center to help you teach your child to read. There are also downloadable books available for ages K-4th, which is great if you don’t have time to go to the library, or if you can only go infrequently if the library is too far away.
Focused Learning Centers
If you want to focus on a specific topic, Focused Learning Centers makes it easy. Say you have a child with special needs. Just go to the Focused Learning Centers link and click on the Special Needs link. There you’ll find all the articles on the entire site about special needs in one location.
There are many topics in the focused learning centers including foreign languages, high school and colleges, preschool, career center, and many, many more.

How We Use the Annual Membership
We are loving the Ultimate PreK-12 Annual Membership to SchoolhouseTeachers.com and finding so many ways to enrich our homeschool!
The appeal for this site isn’t just that it is a full curriculum for the entire family; there are also so many other features!
In December, we took a break from traditional homeschooling and focused on reading more about Christmas and doing more Christmas related activities. Many of the books that we started reading (and didn’t get to finish because of some sickness in December) came directly from the SchoolhouseTeachers.com reading list.
Now, we consult SchoolhouseTeachers.com whenever there is a holiday coming up because they have such great resources!
AppleCore Record Keeping
But I’m also loving the parental resources. My current homeschoolers are in 4th and 5th grade, and they have been begging me to get graded work and report cards. When I delved further into SchoolhouseTeachers.com, I found that they have a program, Applecore, that can keep your child’s attendance records and grades and can produce report cards and transcripts. The silver version of this subscription is FREE with a SchoolhouseTeachers.com subscription. I chose to pay another $10 so I could create a regular schedule on the program. I’m excited to have a way to organize our homeschool further and give my girls report cards as they are asking for.
Monthly Menu Planning
For those of you who feel uninspired when it comes to making meals or creating a menu plan, let SchoolhouseTeachers.com do the work for you. They have a YEAR’S worth of menus complete with recipes for each meal. For many people, this would be worth the price of the subscription alone.
Even though we’re gluten free and dairy free, I found quite a few recipes that I could easily alter to suit our dietary needs.
My absolute favorite discovery on the site has been the book lists. SchoolhouseTeachers.com has over 60 book lists. We’re going to study Africa soon for geography, and I found the Africa book list, and there are now so many more books on our reading list!
There is just SO MUCH to find and use on this site for ALL of your children and for parents. I’ve only scratched the surface in this review. For the resources and courses that are available on SchoolhouseTeachers.com, this is an excellent product to enrich any homeschool and family.
