Trident Case Review

We tend to be a low-tech family.  However, when my aunt and uncle decided to upgrade their iPad mini and offered us their used iPad mini for a steal, we couldn’t resist.  We’ve had the iPad mini for about four months now, and my husband, especially, was getting frustrated with the little magnetic folding cover the iPad mini comes with.

When I got the chance to review the Trident Case, I happily said yes.  We reviewed the Kraken A.M.S. Case for iPad Mini 1 or iPad Mini 2, and we loved it!

My husband was at his wits end with the cover that came with the iPad.  He hated moving it behind the screen when he wanted to use the iPad, and he hated moving it to take pictures.  In fact, when we were visiting relatives, he accidentally lost the cover.

Trident Case Features

When we got the Trident Case in the mail, he happily unpacked it and installed it on the iPad.  He had it installed on the iPad in less than 5 minutes; it was that easy!  No tools were required (only scissors to open the packaging).

The case has many features that we loved:

  • hardened bio-enhanced polycarbonate shell,
  • shock-absorbing silicone,
  • built-in screen protector,
  • device controls and ports protected,
  • shoulder strap compatible,
  • enhanced audio,
  • military standards,
  • vibration,
  • dust filters (it was tested for sand for 3 hours at 59 feet/second),
  • rain/wind (tested at 7.9 inches of rain per hour at 40 mph winds for one hour),
  • green protection (the case is degradable, compostable, and recyclable)
  • made in the USA

Our Experience with Trident Case

We’ve used the case for about 6 weeks now, and we love.  Our children use the iPad quite a bit for school, so we’re glad to have protection against dropping and breakage.  (Though thankfully the iPad wasn’t dropped during this review period.)

I also like that the Trident Case screen protects the iPad screen.  When the inevitable finger prints and smudges appear, they’re on the Trident Case screen, not the iPad screen.

Picture taking is a breeze with the case.  It doesn’t interfere, and there’s no clumsy magnetic cover to move out of the way.  My husband is thrilled with the Trident Case.

More Trident Case Details

The Trident Case for an iPad mini runs $59.95.  Not cheap, I know, but when you compare that to the cost of damage to the iPad, the Trident Case is a good deal.

It comes in an array of colors:

  • black
  • blue
  • grey
  • pink
  • red
  • green
  • white

Trident Case Review
We ultimately went with black on black, but you can choose from a variety of cute colors to jazz up the case.

Trident Case also offers attachments such as a tablet stand and holder.

The iPad mini case is just one of the protective covers they offer.  You can also buy protective covers for iPads, iPhones, and Kindles, to name a few.

Final Thoughts

While the case makes the iPad a bit heavier to hold (it weighs .43 pounds), we will definitely continue using it.  If we ever upgrade to more technology like an iPhone, I’d go to Trident Case to buy a cover for my phone.
