I earned $199.17 this week, all from writing, virtual assistant work and advertising. I have many items listed on Craigslist, but so far no bites. Many of the items are for the holidays, so it may be too early for people to think about that yet. I am anxious to get the extra stuff out of the house and make some money for it. 🙂
We now have $886.67 saved for October expenses. I am feeling a bit frustrated because it is hard to put any extra money on debt when we have to pay out of pocket for my husband’s two upcoming conferences–the one in Washington D.C. this month and Montreal, Canada next month. We should be reimbursed completely for this month’s conference, but we still have to pay out of pocket for all of the expenses. Then, we will be reimbursed for about half of the expenses for next month’s conference. Still, I am glad he is going because hopefully getting more exposure at the conferences will further his career.
Now, for the most exciting news of the week! I can’t even believe it is real, but FINALLY after 10 long years of education, my husband will be defending his dissertation this Wednesday! Neither of us can believe it is actually really happening. After that, he should be able to roll his current full-time position into a post-doc position, hopefully next month, which will come with a small raise, health insurance, sick days and vacation days and retirement savings. Woo hoo!!!! All of the hard work is finally paying off!
