It’s been a bit too dry around here. The tomato plants look like they’re dying, but they’re still producing!
In the last week we have gotten:
Tomatoes: 3 lbs. 6 oz.
Swiss Chard: 1 lb. 4 oz.
2 cucumbers
Green Beans: 3 oz.
I think I need to get out there and harvest some of our collards. The leaves are getting quite big and are starting to droop. I’m also considering the basil a lost cause. It continually flowers and just looks droopy and ugly. That needs to get pulled up asap.
- So far this year, we’ve harvested total:
- 1 lb. 1 oz. of green beans
- 3 lbs. 4 oz. of Swiss chard
- 4 lbs. 8 oz. of tomatoes
- .3 oz. of basil
- If you’re gardening, how is your garden doing?

Great job! My husband does a great garden each year and we love it! Saves money on groceries and we even have enough to sell some.
I’m envious of your garden! It looks great! Our balcony will only hold so many pots, so we’ve opted for succulents and flowers for decoration. Perhaps someday soon, we’ll grow veggies!
Thanks. The funny thing is all the other gardens in the community garden look more lush than ours!
We planted the Swiss Chard this year and will do it again next year. It turned out great but I’ll put it in the ground next year rather than the planter box.
