Whoo, this week was an expensive one.  We were out of many staples, so I had a nearly $200 Costco run.

I also decided to start freezer cooking again in the hopes that it will lower our grocery bill.  I had a great freezer cooking session (I’ll share the results next week), and was able to stock enough meals for almost the rest of March.  We are good on the meal front, so now we’ll just have to buy fruits and frozen vegetables.  The vegetables aren’t too much of a budget breaker, but the way we go through fruit, well, that can get expensive.

Also of note, Target had Larabars marked down 50% off, so I was able to score several boxes for .50 a bar.  We’ll use these for a trip we’re taking later in March.  (That is also why I bought the Udi’s granola–easy food to eat in the hotel room for breakfast.)  I’ll also use the Larabars for the kids’ Easter baskets in addition to some Surf Sweets candies.
