We had a great day today visiting the Manitou Cliff Dwellings and Garden of Gods. The scenery here is just breathtaking. I love the gorgeous blue sky and the low humidity. I wish we had a few more days to sight see before my conference begins.
My two year old surprised me by spending quite a bit of time wandering in the Cliff Dwellings and climbing some of the rocks with her big brother and dad. I think having an older brother who is 4.5 years older than her has made her a bit fearless. After our trips, we spent some time in the hotel pool, which the kids loved!
Speaking of hotels, last nights was a real doozy. We found leftover Chinese in our refrigerator, and in the evening, when we pulled out the hide-a-bed, there was used, wadded up bedding on it. When my husband went to take a shower this morning, there was already a used bar of soap in the shower. I complained, but they only gave us $20 off. I don’t think the manager believed my complaints. She said I should have called to ask for a different bed at 11:30 p.m. when we pulled out the sofa sleeper. At that time I had 3 kids asleep; I wouldn’t have changed rooms. We are looking forward to staying at the resort tonight.
I am very excited about the Savvy Blogging Summit. I’ll share with you my experience when I am done attending. To those of you who follow Mom’s Plans on Facebook and suggested places to visit in Colorado Springs, thank you. I am loving your suggestions!

that is just gross. i can’t believe you only received $20 off! they should have refunded you for the entire night. not good business!
I know, right? I think I will call the corporate office.
Not only is it gross, but it’s terrible customer service. I agree on calling the corporate office.
There is no excuse for a room to be like that…we stayed at Drury Inn in Denver in Feb and LOVED them!
I love Colorado. It’s such a beautiful state. Have a wonderful time at the blogging summit!
I can’t believe you are in my city. Don’t you just love the mountians here? So glad that you are having a great time. Have a wonderful time and enjoy our great weather this weekend.
I loved the gorgeous scenery. I was constantly looking around in amazement that people like you get to see this view on a daily basis. I loved the low humidity too. The only thing that I didn’t like was it was so much easier to see the storm clouds. It felt like you could feel a storm coming for hours before it actually got there. I am envious you get to live in such a beautiful locale! We are already planning to come back on vacation because there is so much we still would like to do.
There is so much to do in this state. We love all the little mountian towns and going out east to Bent’s Fort. That is a cool place just for the history. So glad you guys had fun.
I love Colorado! Have you been to Steamboat? That’s my new favorite CO town.
No, we just went to Colorado Springs, but we would love to go back for another vacation.
