This post contains affiliate links. Last year I reduced my annual grocery bill by 4%. This year, I’m trying to reduce it further. (The grocery spending goal for 2025 is to spend no more than $15,600 for the year.) I cannot eat dairy, gluten, or corn, and PB & J Girl also needs to avoid dairy. Even though the girls can eat gluten now (they couldn’t when they were younger), we still buy mostly gluten free. I’ve perfected sourdough bread, so that is the only gluten that they get.. Here’s our grocery shopping total for February 2025:

How Much Did We Spend?
For February, we spent $1,337.80. Here are the details:
That amount is broken down into the following categories:
- monthly groceries: $1,337.80
Special Purchases This Month:
Having Family Friends Over
Most of our shopping in February was typical grocery shopping. However, we had family friends over for a homemade sushi meal. I estimate this cost us about $100. However, it fed 8 of us between the two families, we sent a meal home for their other child who wasn’t able to attend, and our family had sushi leftovers for lunch the next day. Overall, it was a bargain compared to buying sushi at a restaurant.
How Much We’ve Spent So Far on Groceries
- February 2025: $1337.80
- January 2025: $1845.82
Total Spent This Year: $3,183.62
Amount Remaining for the Year: $12,416.38
Final Thoughts
I bought groceries at the very end of February, so hopefully that will make March’s groceries a bit lower. I’m am worried about possible inflation, so I may stock up on some meat if March’s grocery total is low.
