We went to visit the Japanese school that I told you about last week.  It was impressive!  There were four different levels, and our girls, who haven’t really studied Japanese at all, could only go to the class for American learners.  I *think* our son could go to the first Japanese class because he went to a Japanese immersion preschool and kindergarten and because he studied it for a year in high school two years ago.  Watching the classes, I realized we have a LONG way to go in teaching the girls Japanese.  Here are my goals I want to achieve in 2020: week 7 of 52.

Health

Exercise At Least 3,900 Minutes This Year

Accomplished this week!  I exercised 75 minutes this with a combination of yoga and high-paced walking for a grand total of 239 minutes for the year. I’ve completed 6% of this goal, and I’m really happy that I had a week where I finally hit the minimum amount of exercise I’d like to do per week.  Now, to start doing more than the minimum each week!

Track on WW Every Day

Accomplished this week. I continue to think the Green Plan is the right one for my weight loss plan.  This past week, I was on the weight loss plan, and I’m not going to lie, it was a struggle, especially over Valentine’s Day.  But, I didn’t let that one day derail me.  I got right back up and started again, and by the end of the week, I had gotten the hang of the program and shared it on my full day of eating on the Green Plan.

I lost 1 pound this week for a total of 2 pounds lost since restarting WW.

Learn Techniques to Handle, Recognize, and End Emotional Eating

Thanks to a reader’s recommendation, I started reading Made to Crave.  I’m only about 45 pages into it, but I think it will be helpful.  I also ordered the Made to Crave Devotional so I can remain focused each day.

Read a Passage of the Bible Daily

Just waiting for it to arrive.  Last week, I finally received The Word Among Us, and when I opened it, the entire magazine was empty!  All I received was the cover with no insides!!!  So frustrating after waiting so long.  I’m waiting on my replacement copy to come

Attend One Week Day Mass Weekly

Accomplished this week. So this year, we’ve gone to weekly Mass 4/6 times.  We’ve been lucking out and getting one of my favorite priests.  His sermons are simple enough that the girls (who go with me) get it, but also powerful enough that he always gives me something to think about.

Blog

Work on this has stalled as I’ve been busy catching up on my freelance work that I got behind on when everyone was sick in January and my mom had the shingles.

DONE!!–Have the Site Redesigned and Updated

The new redesign is complete.

Transfer My Email List

Over the years, I have lost access to my email list!  Yikes!  I’ve started a new one, but I’m starting from scratch.  If you were on my previous email list, will you please sign up again?



Update at Least 200 Posts for SEO

No progress.

DONE!!–Delete at Least 100 Irrelevant Posts

I did a little bit more on this and have deleted 620 posts.  That’s the good news.  The bad news is that I’m only on July, 2011.   I still have almost 9 more years to go through!!!!

Read 40 Books

I have completed 9 books so far in January, making this goal 22.5% complete.

I just finished the Nazi Saboteurs, and I can’t believe how ill-conceived and planned this sabotage attempt was!  Now, I need to pick my next book.

Do Duolingo Every Day

I did Duolingo every day this week, putting me on a 101 day streak.

Complete Japanese from Zero Book One

No progress.  I discovered that the textbook Japanese from Zero Book One has a free online course supplement, so I’ll also be using that to help me make my way through Japanese from Zero.  I’m excited for this goal and a little intimidated that I won’t be able to accomplish it because I’ll be short on time.

Reduce Our Grocery Bill

My goal this year is to reduce our grocery bill to $10,000 or $833 a month.

Our final tally for January was $804.74, so I accomplished this goal for January.  So far in February, we’v spent $536.06.

 

Gain Control of My Email

My Google email now has 393 emails———–>down from 5,957 emails at the beginning of the year.  This email is 93.4% completely finished.

No progress on these other nightmare email accounts:

My Yahoo blog email has 93,155 emails.

My Yahoo spam email has 161,328 emails.

My Yahoo personal email has 58, 832 emails.

Travel

If all goes as planned, this year will be a big year for travel.

Take a Trip to Michigan

This year, we plan to take another trip to Michigan.  We’ll either go as a family vacation, or we’ll go to help my mom if she has her other hip replaced.  We’re starting to save money for the trip now, but we won’t have any definitive plans until we learn what my mom plans to do.

My 14 Goals I Want to Accomplish in 2020

We have been tentatively planning a trip for May, but this week my husband’s mother called and said she thought we should wait to come because she’s worried about the coronavirus.  Then it’s rainy season in Japan until the end of July, and then at the end of July, there is the Olympics in Japan.  Our son starts school at the beginning of August.  Who knows when we’ll go.  Hopefully we can go in May.

That’s it.  My goals I want to accomplish in 2020: Week 7 of 52.
