This post contains affiliate links.  It’s time to change things up with my goals.  I want to increase my goals in some areas and make others more specific.  I’ve done that this week with the hope of improving the goals I accomplish weekly and this year.  Here is an update on my goals I want to achieve in 2020: weeks 19 of 52.

Health

Exercise At Least 3,900 Minutes This Year

*ACCOMPLISHED THIS WEEK.  I exercised 75 minutes over the last week!!   I now have a grand total of 790 minutes for the year, making this goal 20% complete.

CHANGE TO THIS GOAL:  I’ve noticed that since my target is 75 minutes, I get lazy when I’ve reached that goal for the week.  My ultimate goal is to exercise 150 minutes a week, so stopping at 75 minutes isn’t helping me much.  I’ve decided to gradually increase the amount of minutes I exercise per week.  For next week, my goal is 80 minutes.

ACCOMPLISHED THIS WEEK! I let not losing weight last week mess with my head, and I had about three out of control eating days.  Luckily, I was able to get back up and start again, so here’s to a new week and fresh starts after small setbacks.

Learn Techniques to Handle, Recognize, and End Emotional Eating

NOT accomplished this week.

Spirituality

I have two goals with this.

Unfortunately, I’ve fallen flat on both of these since the virus struck in earnest in March, so I’m making these goals more specific.

Read a Passage of the Bible Daily

I will read each day’s section in The Word Among Us every day.

Attend One Week Day Mass Weekly

I will watch daily Mass on YouTube every Friday.  So far, I’ve accomplished this goal 7/19 weeks.

Blog

Progress on this has stalled.

Update at Least 200 Posts for SEO

This is another goal I’m making more specific.  I will update five posts a week.

Read 40 Books

I have completed 19 books so far this year, making this goal 47.5% complete.

I’m still reading As Bright as Heaven.  This book is about the 1918-1919 Spanish Flu pandemic.  I’ve already researched this time period some thanks to our new pandemic, but I’d really like to get a deeper understanding about what things were like then and how they best tried to protect themselves.

Learn Japanese

Do Duolingo Every Day

I did Duolingo every day the last week, putting me on a 182 day streak.

Complete Japanese from Zero Book One

Another goal I need to make more specific.  I will do 15 minutes of Japanese per day in addition to Duolingo.

Gain Control of My Email

My Google email now has 393 emails———–>down from 5,957 emails at the beginning of the year.  This email is 93.4% completely finished.

No progress on these other nightmare email accounts:

My Yahoo blog email has 93,155 emails.

My Yahoo spam email has 161,328 emails.

My Yahoo personal email has 58, 832 emails.

GOALS COMPLETED THIS YEAR

DONE!!–Have the Site Redesigned and Updated

The new redesign is complete.

DONE!!–Transfer My Email List

I was able to transfer my email list at the beginning of the year and have been sending out email newsletters every Tuesday.  If you haven’t already, I’d love to see you join!



DONE!!–Delete at Least 100 Irrelevant Blog Posts

I did a little bit more on this and have deleted 635 posts.  That’s the good news.  The bad news is that I’m only on July, 2011.   I still have almost 9 more years to go through!!!!

GOALS ELIMINATED THIS YEAR DUE TO THE VIRUS

Reduce Our Grocery Bill

I HAVE ELIMINATED THIS GOAL FOR THE YEAR.

My goal was to reduce our grocery bill to $10,000 or $833 a month.  HOWEVER, given the current pandemic and the fact that I can no longer bargain shop as I used to, my husband and I decided to eliminate this goal.

Right now, we’re not stepping foot in the store, so we’re relying on online deliveries and what I can get from the grocery store pick up, which is really hit or miss.  Given our food intolerances, we can’t just eat whatever is available.

In March, we spent $1,258.37 (I had a large freezer cooking session in the beginning of March that made this bill a bit higher than normal, and I also put down $100 as a deposit for a 1/4 side of beef.)

In February we spent $895.08Not accomplished

In January, our total was $804.74Accomplished!

Travel

I’m pretty sure these two travel goals will be scrapped for 2020.  Life, what can you do but roll with the punches?

Take a Trip to Michigan

Not happening this year.

Take a Trip to Japan
