Health Goals

I did not achieve most of the health goals I set except exercising and meal prep. However, I’m not going to be too hard on myself because my numbers are going down for SIBO, which means I’m still making good progress!

Between now and February 13th, follow these items:

  • Eat three meals a day only–no snacks–I didn’t succeed at this.
  • Follow a Low Fodmap, Low Carb diet–I’m doing the best I can, which must be okay because my SIBO numbers are going down.
  • Eat no refined sugar including white, brown, powdered, and coconut sugar. I did not do this. My banana muffins have coconut sugar in them.  I usually eat one a day, and they don’t affect my fermentation level, so I’m not planning on dropping them any time soon.  Maybe I shouldn’t have set this goal ;).
  • Exercise for 15 hours–100% Complete! I exercised for 186 minutes, or 3 hours and 6 minutes. I’ve exercised for a grand total of 15 hours 18 minutes this 6 weeks!
  • Meal prep for 4 out of 6 of the upcoming weeks100% completed. I have meal prepped every weekend in 2024 so far.

Personal Development Goals

Besides my reading goal, I did not complete the rest of these. My goal to learn Japanese is front and center next six weeks:

  • Read two or three books100% Completed. I finished Daughter of the Reich and The Fury.
  • Learn how to make gluten free sourdough bread–Well, I have made two loaves of bread, and so far they’re, um, shall we say brick-like. I have made sourdough discard crackers, chocolate chip cookies, and pancakes, which my kids loved. But I can’t keep up with the discard; I have two quarts in my refrigerator waiting for me to use.  So far this experiment is not quite working out how I would like.
  • Listen to Japanese for 600 minutes–33% Completed. I listened to Japanese for a total of 200 minutes overall.
  • Study Japanese for 300 minutes–14.3% Completed. I studied Japanese for a total of 43 minutes this 6 weeks.
  • Write in my journal every day (I bought this 5-year journal so I wouldn’t feel so much pressure to write a lot.  The point now is to get back into the habit of journal writing.)–I wrote in my journal three days this week.

Financial Goals

We accomplished both of our financial goals!

  • Determine what we want to plant in the garden and start the seeds-We determined what we’re going to plant and when. I also ordered a grow light so we can start the seeds in a few weeks.
  • Spend less than $2000 on groceries89.7% Spent.  From January 1st to February 14th, I spent $1,794.29 on groceries. I spent $1,212.12 on groceries in January. From February 1st – 14th, we spent $582.17 ($250 of which was another deposit on our CSA–only one more to go until it’s paid in full!)

Did you set goals for 2024? If so, I’d love to hear what they are!
