This post contains affiliate links. Last year was the first year I really hunkered down and accomplished a lot of my goals. This year, 2022 is off to a good start! Here are my goals for 2022 week 1 of 52.

My Goals for 2022
WORK
Stay Ahead in My Work
My goal is to stay one to two weeks ahead. So far, I have no post written for next week. I think it may take me four to six weeks to get up to one week ahead.
Blog
Likewise, while I sometimes get my blog posts done a week in advance, I want to branch into other topics that will require more planning and research. The following goals will help with that:
Keep an Editorial Calendar
Not yet.
Take Classes on SEO and Pinterest
Not yet.
Update 52 Blog Posts
Not yet.
Eliminate Broken Links
I have 1,600 broken links on my blog! I started to tackle this, but then I realized it would be better to work on eliminating old pages that no longer have worth. Doing that will take care of a lot of the broken links, but I need to learn how to do it properly so people don’t get an error page. (I really should be better at behind the scenes work as a blogger, but I really just like to write!!)
Get My Two Blog Email Accounts Down to Zero
This goal is 2.5% complete.
At the start of the year, my main work email had 112,413 messages; it now has 110,693. The other had 8,291; it currently has 6,874.
HOME IMPROVEMENTS
We did so many home improvements in 2021 that most of 2022 will be spent replenishing our home improvment fund. However, there are some small improvements that we’d like to get done.
- Put handles on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets,
- Replace the sliding glass door handle (My husband did this one, but the lock wasn’t included with the handle. That part is on order, and when it comes, I can check this off the list!)
- Finish our master bathroom (We had a new shower tile installed, but now we need to do something with our vanity, paint the walls where we had the large mirror removed, and add smaller mirrors.)
- Replace the underlay on our roof. (This will either be done in 2022 or early in 2023, depending on life circumstances.)
HEALTH
Walk 400 Miles This Year
This goal is 2% complete. In the first 6 days of the year, I walked 7.5 miles for 146 minutes.
Make a Recipe Binder
I have a lot of recipes our family likes, but they’re not written down anywhere.
Have One Health Challenge a Month
Next week I will share what the goal for January is.
FAMILY
Take One Day a Week Completely Off Work
I already feel like this goal is not going to happen. Because of our busy year in 2022, I don’t see how I can take one day off completely each week. My husband suggested I just take random days off for the year, and I think that might be what happens. I didn’t take any days off this week.
Spend No More Than 45 Minutes on Social Media a Day

This goal is 1% complete. I did this this week, and it was revolutionary! I got so much more work done, and I didn’t feel chained to the computer!
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT/RELAXATION
Finish The Bible in a Year
This goal is 1.5% completed. I listened to three of the podcasts this week.
Read 52 Books
This goal is 2% complete. I finished one book, The Night She Disappeared. I’m currently reading several books at once, but the one that has me most intersted is Know My Name. Wow. (Check out my reading challenge to see what I plan to read this year.)
Write in My Journal 100 Times This Year
This goal is 1% complete. I wrote in my journal once this week. I have to carve out a time to do this regularly, or this goal will be difficult to compete.
TRAVEL
Take Four Local Trips
We plan to get out and about more, and one of the ways to do so is to take four local trips. I’m not sure where we’ll go yet or when. That depends on the pandemic.
Travel to Michigan
We haven’t seen my mom in 23 months. We’re hoping to be able to drive out to see her in Michigan since she is still leery of flying. When will we go? Again, that depends on the pandemic!
Travel to Japan

I’m putting this goal here because we were planning to go to Japan in February, 2020. Covid had already hit Japan by then, so my husband’s mom asked us to cancel the trip. Little did we know how much our world would change in March, 2021. We’d love to go to Japan in 2022, but that will depend on how the pandemic goes.
Final Thoughts
There you have it, my goals for 2022! I’d love to hear what you’re planning to accomplish in the new year.
