This post contains affiliate links. This week was a rough week. On Monday, after a year of illness, we finally had to put our cat, Henry, to sleep. That was a miserable day, and the kids and I spent most of the day crying and being sad. Then, a few days later, my husband got some disappointing news at work, so he was in a funk for awhile. Overall, this week was just one of those weeks when you’re glad it’s over.
Here are my goals for 2021: Week 28 of 52:
What I Accomplished This Week
Finish reading How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House, and start reading The Dry.
No. I only read about 30 pages this week.
Follow along to Bible in a Year for 5 episodes.
Yes. I completed exactly five episodes.
Walk 1 mile or bike two miles 6 days this week.
Yes. but I think for awhile I’m switching to indoor exercise. Since it’s so hot and humid, I’ve been walking outside very early in the morning, before almost anyone in our neighborhood is up. It’s creeping me out most days, so I’m going to switch to indoor exercise for awhile. I’ll try walking outdoors again when the temps are cool enough that I can walk at a decent hour–when people are awake.
Write out our curriculum for the year and daily plans for the first 5 weeks .
No. I wrote out the curriculum for the year, but I didn’t get to the daily plans.
Write 5 posts for clients this week.
No. Once again I wrote 4 posts.
Listen to one healthy living podcast.
Write in my jouranl three times this week.
Clean and organize the pantry.
No, but I haven’t been grocery shopping much, so it’s getting emptier.
Pick a painter and decide when to schedule the house painting.
Yes. We picked the company, and this week they started working on our outdoor patio roof. Two pieces of wood trim needed to be replaced. Also, the ceiling has had paint flapping off it almost as soon as we bought the house 7 years ago. The painters said it looked like it wasn’t primed. Someone just painted over the dry wall, which is why the paint never stayed on.
Assuming the HOA approves our paint colors, next week we can start painting the exterior.
Find 5 more bags of clutter to get rid of.
Yes! This week, Big Brothers and Sisters came to pick up all of our stuff we no longer use.
Goals for This Week
I’m not sure how motivated I’ll be next week considering how this week has gone, but I’m setting goals in the hopes that next week is much better.
- Finish reading How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House, and start reading The Dry (this one is for my book club, and I have to finish by the end of the month).
- Follow along to Bible in a Year for 5 episodes.
- Do at least 20 minutes of exercise 6 day this week.
- Outline the first 5 weeks of work for the girls’ new school year.
- Write 5 posts this week. (I’m trying to get ahead on my work for clients so I don’t feel so swamped at the end of the month.)
- Listen to one healthy living podcast.
- Clean and organize the pantry.
- Write in my journal three times this week.
