This post contains affiliate links.  It was a quiet week around our house this week.  I should have enjoyed it, but instead I felt restless.  Next week will be much busier for me with doctor’s appointments and my husband with work.  We’re also going to try to do a few fun things with the kids outdoors.  (There will be a few days that are only around 80 degrees next week, so we’re going to enjoy them before the upper 90s creep in.)

Here are my goals for 2021: Week 16 of 52:

What I Accomplished This Week

Finish When Breath Becomes Air this week.

Yes!  A review is coming soon.


Follow along to Bible in a Year for 3 episodes.

Yes.  I was hoping to do more, but 3 days is better than none.

Do yoga or walk three days this week.

No.  I only did this once this week.

Take care of the three plastic tubs in my bathroom.

Yes.  The bathroom looks so much more spacious now!

Clean the kitchen burners.

Yes.  We have had our stove for 16 months, and I’m embarrassed to say we’ve never cleaned these before.  Plus, the girls are cooking a lot more, so there was a lot of food that fell down there and became charred.  I used SOS pads and got rid of most of the black, but the rest will have to wait until next time.  Meanwhile, I covered these in aluminum foil, so next time clean up will be much easier.

Clean the pile of books and papers on my side of the bed.

No.  I got this half done before I ran out of time yesterday.

Listen to one healthy living podcast.

Yes.  I listened to the podcast, Not All Calories Are Created Equal.

Get 7.5 hours of sleep a night five days this week.

No.  Our bedroom is on one end of the house and the air conditioner is on the other end, so our room gets very hot.  That is the main reason I have trouble sleeping at night.  This will likely be a struggle all summer long (which here runs April-November.)

Goals for This Week

Lightening up on goals last week worked well for me, so I’m going to try that again this week:

  • Read half of Right Cross this week
  • Follow along to Bible in a Year for 3 episodes.
  • Do yoga, walk, or bike three days this week.
  • Finish cleaning the side of my bed.
  • Clean the area in front of our dresser.
  • Listen to one healthy living podcast.
  • Meditate two days this week.
  • Take the girls rock climbing indoors or to the zoo
