This post contains affiliate links.  Here’s the honest truth.  This week, we took the week off school for spring break, and I got very little done from my goals list I created last week.  However, that doesn’t mean I didn’t get anything done.  So, instead of showing you last week’s goals and then saying “not accomplished” to almost every single one of them, why don’t I tell you instead what I did get accomplished:

What I Accomplished This Week

Read 1/3 of Stephen King’s The Institute

I’m supposed to be reading The Rosie Project for book club, but I really wanted to dive into The Institute, so that’s what I did instead.

Watched FOUR movies with the kids!

They each wanted to pick a movie to watch this week, and I picked one, too.  Monday through Thursday, we enjoyed movie afternoon or evening.

Took over my husband’s share of the household responsibilities.

During the weekdays, I do dishes all day (our dishwasher broke last summer), and my husband does after dinner dishes.  On the weekend, he does all of the cooking and dishes while I work.  However, this week, he had a lot of work to do, so he worked 12 hour days, and I did his evening household work.  I’ve also done his weekend cooking and dishes while he’s painted the living room the last two weekends.

Helped Bookworm with some things he wanted to accomplish over break.

He had a long list of tasks he wanted to complete over break, some of which required my assistance, so we knocked those out.

Listened to three Sonlight webinars about homeschooling high school.

In February, Sonlight had a series of webinars for homeschooling high school.  They had the recordings available for free for two weeks, and since we were at the two week mark this week, I listened to several (and took copious notes!).

Created the girls’ school plan for the next 25 weeks.

One of the Sonlight webinars suggested creating a syllabus for your kids, so I did just that.  This syllabus will take us through the end of the summer and right to the start of the new school year.  PB & J Girl will be in 7th grade, and she still has no intention of going to school, so I better start practicing for this homeschooling high school gig.

Decluttered and donated 12 bags of things we’re no longer using/the kids outgrew.

Last week I finished cleaning the garage, the girls cleaned out their closets, and I cleaned out part of mine, so we had 12 bags leave our house on Thursday.  I hate decluttering, but I love seeing the results when “stuff” leaves my house.

Goals for This Week

This upcoming week, we’ll be back to our regular schedule, so he’s what I have planned:

  1. Read 25 pages of The Rosie Project a day.
  2. Continue painting our living room.  (Hopefully we’ll finish this weekend!)
  3. Clean out the master bedroom closet for one hour.  (Soon, when the temperature rises, it’ll be too hot for this job, so I need to get it done now.)
  4. Follow along to Read the Bible in a Year for eight episodes.  (I made the mistake of not doing this in the morning, thinking I’d get to it in the afternoon.  All that thought has gotten me is a week behind!!!  Clearly I need to move this back to morning before my day gets busy.)
  5. Exercise three days this week.
  6. Finish grading the kids’ school work.
  7. Create report cards for the kids.
  8. Work on my Ancestry for one hour.
  9. Watch the video for the telescope we ordered & use it one night with the girls.
