This week was a doozy! First, I kept my chart, so I could visually see what I accomplished and what goals I wasn’t achieving. I think keeping this chart will be essential to meeting my goals. That’s the good news.
The bad news is that this week my mom, I, and both of the girls were sick. The sickness spread over 5 days, with each of us being sick for 2 to 3 days, so not much got done!
Use the Barton reading program with one of my dyslexic children 4x a week for at least 45 weeks.
This week we used the Barton program 2x, thanks to sickness, so this will be the second of the 7 scheduled weeks when I don’t meet this goal.
Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day six days a week.
This goal is one I’m starting slow with only 5 minutes a day the first week, but I didn’t even accomplish that this week thanks to sickness.
Eat only food made at home with the exception of three times a week.
This one didn’t happen, either.
Practice meditation 4x a week.
I did this once. I’ll be honest, this goal will take some getting used to. I just found myself sitting listening to the meditation track and feeling strange. Meditation is definitely not natural to me!
Learn to eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full.
Working on it. Sadly, this is another goal that is not natural to me.
Eat at least 6 fruits and veggies a day.
Not accomplished this week.
Blog 3x a week for at least 45 weeks of the year.
Last week I published five blog posts:
Increase my business income by 10%.
I’ve been taking an online course on using social media, but so far, I’m not finding it very helpful.
Read at least 30 minutes a day.
I read for 30 minutes each day for only two days! You can find my reading progress at my Goodreads account. I’d love it if you’d follow me there, and I’d love to follow you if you have a Goodreads account.
Read at least 6 religious/spiritual books.
I’ve picked my first book of the six and have started reading Saint John Paul the Great: His Five Loves by Jason Evert.
Read the Bible in a year.
The week before, I didn’t read from the Bible once, but now that I’m back to my morning routine and have my handy chart, I was able to do this every day this week!
Raise $1,000 for a trip to Michigan
No progress this week, but I did decide where this money will come from. Of any extra money I make, 40% will go to the Michigan fund. So will all of the loose change we get as well as any cash back we get from our credit cards. Hopefully, I’ll have something to report next week.
Write one thing I’m grateful for a day
If you haven’t watched this excellent video, which inspired me to write down one grateful thing a day., I highly recommend it. Of course, I didn’t write it on my chart this week, so it didn’t get done. 🙁
Have you set goals? If so, I’d love to hear them!
