I am planning on having a freezer cooking bout next weekend, and I knew I would need chicken broth, so when I was grocery shopping Saturday I picked up a whole chicken for .98/pound.  That is not the best price I have bought it for, but it was a good price, and it saves me from having to use canned chicken broth next weekend.  Most of our meals this week will be centered around the whole chicken.

Also, I had a turkey that I bought during the Thanksgiving 2009 sales, so I have pulled that out and will cook it up on Friday night.  It will make up the bulk of my freezer cooking meals.  (We don’t usually eat this much meat in a week!)

Monday–Pork Chop & Lima Bean Skillet Recipe

Tuesday–Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, broccoli

Wednesday–Pulled chicken BBQ sandwiches, homemade fries and mixed veggies

Thursday–Slow Cooker Chicken & Corn Chili, Nutty Yam Bread

Friday–Roasted Turkey, brown rice, veggies

Saturday–whatever I have done from freezer cooking when it is time to eat

Sunday–Split Pea & Ham Soup, rolls

Breakfasts will be oatmeal, smoothies, fruit, breakfast tortillas, breakfast sandwiches.

Lunches will be sandwiches or leftovers.
