My daughter has about 8 adorable, sleeveless summer dresses. Now that the weather is turning cooler, we are packing up summer clothes and bringing out the fall clothing. However, I couldn’t stand to put away all of her cute dresses!
To stretch her dress wardrobe further, I have a simple white turtleneck to put under those sleeveless dresses to keep her warm when the temperature is only in the 60s. When it falls even further, I have a basic pair of leggings to put on her under the dress. By doing this, she will be able to wear her sleeveless dresses into late October. By then she will have probably outgrown them. Works for me!
I shared this post at Works for Me Wednesdays.

My daughter is almost 1 and I've been doing similar. She's actually wearing 18-24 month clothes (she's tall like me!), but anyway, I have a number of long sleeve tops that i've either been given (hand-me-downs from a friend with a baby a year older) or bought super cheap in a charity shop.
I also love the bright funky wooly tights that they make for this sort of age group. Together it makes a lovely outfit and keeps her warm!
That's a good idea. I don't have a daughter, just a son, but we employ a similar technique by putting on long sleeve t's or turtlenecks on under his t-shorts when the weather starts cooling down.
It buys us some time before we have to start buying winter clothes!

Thanks for that reminder. I was just about to pack ours away. Nice to meet you!
I might do this for myself, I bought a few of those frilly, ruffly shirts for summer and can't bare to pack them up and who knows if ruffles will be in next summer?
