In 2014, we started a new Christmas tradition. That tradition was to read one of Arnold Ytreeide’s advent books during Advent. Ytreeide’s books are set up so that you read one chapter per night. Many times, the chapter would end in a particularly suspenseful part, and my kids would beg to read more. We didn’t, and they looked forward to picking up the story the next night.

We started with Jotham’s Journey.
The next year we read Bartholomew’s Passage.
Last year, we read, Ishtar’s Odyssey.
This year, we plan to read the last (for us) in the series, Tabitha’s Travels.
The Giveaway
One winner will receive a copy of Jotham’s Journey, which tells the tale of 10 year old Jotham, who is inadvertently separated from his family. He must travel across Israel, facing thieves, robbers, and kidnappers, to find his family. In the course of finding his family, he also finds the Savior born in Bethlehem.
To enter, simply leave a comment stating any favorite books you read to your kids during Advent.
For an additional entry, follow Mom’s Plans on Instagram, and then come back here and leave a comment that you did so (or that you already follow.)
This giveaway, which is open to U.S. residents age 18+, will end on November 21, 2017. The winner will be chosen via random.org.
