10 Pound ChallengeOne of my goals for the year was to lose 25% of my body weight, which, unfortunately, is more than 10 pounds.  🙂  However, Newlyweds on a Budget is having a 10 Pound Challenge that I chose to join.  The premise is that you join and vow to lose 10 pounds (or more) between January 16, 2012 and April 9, 2012.

The best part about this challenge is not only will you lose weight, but you get to compete for cash prizes!  All participants who lose 10 pounds or more will be entered into a drawing to win one of six cash prizes that range from $75 to $15.

How Do I Plan to Lose 10 Pounds?

When I have lost weight in the past, I have always done so on Weight Watchers.  I don’t have the money to join Weight Watchers again because all of our extra money is going to debt repayment.  However, I do still have the old materials, so I plan to follow the Simply Filling Technique.  With this plan I will be able to eat until I am satisfied if I choose healthy whole grains, proteins and fruits and vegetables.  We can’t eat much junk food now because of our food intolerances, so our diet has gradually moved to more whole foods.  Now, I just need to up my fruit and veggie servings.

I also plan to exercise a minimum of 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week.  I am so busy working extra jobs right now to pay down debt that I don’t have much free time, but I know I can carve out 15 minutes a day to take care of myself.

I’ll be updating my weight loss monthly.
