This post contains affiliate links. I’m no stranger to freezer cooking. I often made freezer meals when the girls were little and I was in survival mode. While I don’t make freezer meals as regularly as I did back then, I almost always have a few freezer meals in the freezer, waiting for me. This year, I plan to up my game by making at least 80 freezer meals over the next three months. Then I don’t have to spend as much time in my hot Arizona kitchen cooking when it’s 100 degrees plus, which it is for about five months of the year. As this MyFreezEasy review will explain, the program is a game changer! Almost every freezer cooking session I have has a few meals from MyFreezEasy.
I’m simply in love with this program, and have used it to help me create freezer meals since I first started using MyFreezEasy in 2018!
MyFreezEasy Review: Freezer Cooking Made Easy
MyFreezEasy is the brain child of Erin Chase, the author of numerous cookbooks and the blogger behind $5 Dinner Mom. Chase runs a thriving business and is mom to four boys, so she gets how busy a mom’s life can be. Furthermore, some of Chase’s kids have food intolerances/allergies, so she also understands specialized diets.
How to Plan for Your Freezer Cooking Session
Chase makes freezer cooking easy. She not only develops a list of five meals each month (that you can double to make a grand total of 10 freezer meals for the month), but she also lists all of the groceries you’ll need (arranged by section in the store or by recipe), and she gives step-by-step instructions for putting the meals together. If you’d like to use them, she even offers labels that you can print and adhere to your freezer meals.
How to Find Recipes on MyFreezEasy
MyFreezEasy offers several different ways to search for recipes and freezer cooking plans. The easiest way is to simply search under “This Month’s Meal Plans.” There, you can choose the plan you’d like to follow for the month. Choices include:
- Traditional
- Dump Dinners
- Instant Pot
- Slow Cooker
- Gluten-Free
- Paleo/Whole 30
- Keto
- Clean Eats
- 20 Meals
- All Chicken
- All Ground Beef
- All Pork Chops
If you find a sale on ground beef, you can stock up, look at MyFreezEasy, and create meals based on the all ground beef recipes. The same goes for chicken or pork.
See a recipe on the plan that you don’t like? No problem. Simply choose “swap a meal” and you can choose from the menu data base to choose a meal you do like to replace the one you don’t. (Each month’s recipes are added to the data base when the month is over and a new monthly plan is released.)
When you choose your own recipe, you can also choose among other categories such as “Paleo” or “Whole 30” or “Top 8 Allergy Free Recipes.”
Finally, you can choose whether you’d like 2, 4, 6, or 8 servings. My first freezer cooking session, I chose 8 servings because, well, Bookworm eats and eats and eats, and because I’d like leftovers for lunches on busy school days. Let me tell you, Chase’s serving sizes are generous! Some of the 8 serving meals I made didn’t fit in a one gallon freezer bag. I had to separate the meal into two bags.
How We Use MyFreezEasy
Because we have so many food intolerances, I choose to pick my meals for my plan rather than choosing the ones preselected. This worked great! Many of the recipes that could accommodate our food intolerances, so I didn’t have much trouble finding meals that would work. Even better, my family really loved the food.
I use the menu plans from MyFreezEasy in different ways. Sometimes I do the traditional manner of making all of the meals at once. Sometimes during a busy week, I simply plan on each meal making one dinner that week. Then, when I prep for dinner, I just double the amount of the recipe and throw one bag in the freezer. This is a super easy way to fill the freezer; I think it’s my preferred method now!
Here are some of the yummy meals we make:
Maple Dijon Salmon

Slow Cooker Spanish Rice & Green Chili Pork Tenderloin

Chicken Fajita Bake & Slow Cooker Spanish Rice (definitely a fav in our household!)

Improvements to Be Made
Overall, I think this is a fantastic program, and I highly endorse it. I would, however, like to see more Paleo recipes.
Otherwise, I think Chase has done an excellent job making life easier for moms everywhere with this program.
