We prefer to eat organic produce, and even better if I don’t have to go out shopping.  When we were in Chicago, we subscribed to a CSA, but we haven’t found a service that we like here.  That changed, however, when we discovered GrubMarket.

GrubMarket works “with a variety of farms and artisan producers to bring you high-quality foods and other items at prices that are up to 50% OFF what you’d typically find at Whole Foods and other grocers.”

We were lucky enough to try the Regular California Fruit Bounty Box, currently priced at $29.99 (feeds 2 to 3 people).  The box was delivered to our door and the fruit was packed in paper shredding that kept all of the fruit free of bruising or other defects.  All of the fruit looked beautiful.  In fact, when I put all the fruit on the table to take a picture of it, my daughter was inspired to paint it.  🙂

We received all of the following yummy fruits:

Everything was so fresh!  When you imagine delivery service for fruits, you usually imagine fruits of lesser quality, but these were beautiful and oh so tasty!

We used them in a variety of ways.

Fresh apple slices:

Homemade sort of Larabars with dates and coconuts:

in a sweet potato, apple, salmon meal:

and just plain:

The kids were so surprised to find the inside of the oranges were red!
