I was hoping to come in a bit lower for the month of February, but then Sprout’s had a great BOGO sale, which I couldn’t resist. I did come in under budget for the month, which helped to handle last month’s over spending, but I would have liked the total to be lower. At any rate, we’re stocked up on some favorites, so maybe that will help keep March’s groceries low.
Just a Few Facts About Us
Our family of 5 chooses to eat mostly organic produce and grass-fed and pasture-raised meats. I’m Paleo, my daughter is semi-Paleo, and the rest of us are gluten free. Everyone except my husband is dairy free. Our goal for 2018 is to spend on average $750 per month (or less) on groceries.

Here’s what we bought last week:
Costco – $27.06
Sprout’s & Trader Joe’s – $85.01
Sprout’s – $72
A few weeks ago, Sprout’s had Nut Thins Buy One, Get Two Free, so I bought a few. The kids really liked them, so I took advantage of this week’s Buy One, Get One Free sale to buy some more. The pasta sauce was also BOGO as was the Daiya cheese, making the cheese $2.50 a package, which is the cheapest I have found it.
Fry’s – $6
Another day, another jar of applesauce. I miss eating non-soft food! The asparagus was .77 a bunch, and the cantaloupe was .97!
Sprouts – $23
Fry’s & Trader Joe’s – $14
TOTAL for this week: $227.07
TOTAL for February: $706.87
TOTAL for January: $812.92
Average monthly 2018 TOTAL: $759.90
