I’m trying to pay cash for my groceries in an effort to rein in my spending. I’m also taking all of the change I receive and putting it in a vacation fund to travel to Michigan, so unless I pay by check or credit card, all of my shopping will now be rounded up to the nearest dollar.
Just a Few Facts About Us
Our family of 5 chooses to eat mostly organic produce and grass-fed and pasture-raised meats. I’m Paleo, my daughter is semi-Paleo, and the rest of us are gluten free. Everyone except my husband is dairy free. Our goal for 2018 is to spend on average $750 per month (or less) on groceries.

Here’s what we bought last week:
Sprout’s & Fry’s – $8
I wanted to try these Blinski’s sausages because they’re more sustainable raised and because they are only 1 Weight Watchers point, but owww! at $5.99 a package, they’re not easy on the pocketbook!
Sprout’s – $15
I couldn’t pass up the buy one, get one free Daiya pizza!
Sprout’s, Basha’s & Costco – $86
I took advantage of more of the Sprout’s Super Bowl sales and got pineapples for .98 each; chips, buy 1 get 2 free; and BBQ sauce B1G1.
Trader Joe’s & Natural Grocers – $56
I had to have a tooth pulled on Tuesday, so before that happened, I stocked up on soft foods.
TOTAL for the week: $165
TOTAL for January: $812.92
