There are 10 days left in the month, and so far, I’ve been able to stay within our $750 budget even with feeding another adult. I’ve also managed to double a few meals so I can put some away in the freezer. However, while my mom is here visiting, I really, really want to have a massive freezer cooking session because almost all of our freezer meals from my September freezer cooking session are gone. I’ll have to figure out how to manage my money to do that because stocking the freezer with meals to last a few days a week for a few months requires a fair, upfront investment.

I also want to get a Butcher Box order in January. Since we’re out of our 1/4 side of beef and 1/2 side of pork, we’ve been using a lot of ground meat. We want to make room in the budget for some other cuts of meat; I was hoping to get the large, bulk $270 box, but maybe I’ll have to go for the smaller $129 box.

Just a Few Facts About Us
Our family of 5 chooses to eat mostly organic produce and grass-fed and pasture-raised meats. I’m Paleo, my daughter is semi-Paleo, and the rest of us are gluten free. Everyone except my husband is dairy free. Our goal for the last few months of the year is to spend on average $750 per month on groceries.

The Mountain Dew was a free Friday download for my husband, and the yogurt was on clearance. That is also for my husband.

Not pictured is one large container of olive oil. The total was $63.89, but I had a gift card, so $36.85 was the total after the gift card.
Sprout’s & Natural Grocers – $23.19
My husband brings his lunch to work everyday, but he was out of meat and he’s eaten most of the organ meat we had from our 1/4 side of beef. So, I was very glad to see the sausage on clearance.
