He wasn’t a fan. 🙂 If your child is in the same situation, why not make freezer meals for a college student?
Buying a Freezer and Stocking Up
Now that he’s in college there, when I dropped him off and got him settled, we decided to have a big freezer cooking session so he wouldn’t have to cook as much when he’s busy with school. We bought him a small, 5 cubic foot freezer. That was more than ample for the freezer meals we made and left him room for frozen foods he might want to buy. We’ll also use some of the room in the freezer when we come to visit.
The Freezer Meals We Made
Here are the freezer cooking meals we made:
BBQ Chicken, (x2–made 12 meals)
One Pot Beef Taco Pasta, (x2–made 10 meals; he’ll add the pasta when he’s ready to eat it)
Healthy Taco Soup, (x2–made 10 meals)
Chicken Apple Sausage Kale Soup, (x2–made 12 meals; he’ll add the rice when he’s ready to eat it)
Sloppy Joes (x2–made 8 meals)
5-Ingredient Chili (from MyFreezEasy), (x2–made 10 meals)
Chili Verde Soup, (made 5 meals)
Taco Beef Mix (made 3 meals)
He now has 70 meals to eat throughout the 14 week semester. This is a great way to get a college student started in a new semester!
