???????????????????????????????This 4-week grocery cycle is especially difficult because we had to pay $110 out of our $500 for a pork share that we’ll be receiving in March.

Also, after some discussion, my husband and I decided NOT to include water in our $500 grocery budget, so previous weekly reports that included water have been amended.  Thanks to all of you on Facebook who weighed in on the decision!

This year, I’m aiming to spend $6,500 total for food for my family.  That amount includes groceries only, NOT toiletries.  We rarely eat out, so the food I buy to prepare at home is what we eat.

Since my husband is paid bi-monthly, the goal is to spend no more than $500 every 4 weeks.  (I don’t calculate the amount spent on a monthly basis but on an every 4 week cycle.)

We try to eat organic veggies and fruit as much as possible, and we try to buy meat that is grass-fed and organic.  We have multiple food intolerances, with the biggies being gluten, corn, and dairy.

Here’s what we bought from February 6th to 12th:

Sprout’s – $14.13

I am not a big couponer, but I’m learning.  I used several coupons this week.  At Sprout’s, I saved .10 for using my own bags, and Bookworm saved us .50 because he clipped a coupon for Halos that we used.

Fry’s – FREE

Let me tell you, Fry’s has been spoiling me lately, and it couldn’t come at a better time.  Last week, they offered Fry’s card members a free box of South Beach diet bars (R.V. $6+) and this week it was a small container of yogurt.  I got both for my husband to bring to work as snacks.

For Valentine’s Day, Fry’s also sent out a pack of coupons in the mail.  One was for a free 24 pack of water, and one was for a free bag of veggies.  Yes, please, and thank you!

Fry’s – $17.63

I also did some other shopping at Fry’s to take advantage of the deals that I could find.

Target – $1.11

Target isn’t usually on my grocery list, but when I saw Money Saving Mom mention that with a coupon and sale, Barbara’s cereal could be had for .55 a box, I had to go.  This cereal will be a good snack for Cuddlebug and Bookworm.  PB & J Girl is intolerant to corn, so I’ll give her the Barbara’s brown rice cereal we bought from Azure several months ago.

Sprout’s – $4.92

We just had to pick up a few more good deals at Sprout’s!

Costco – $19.68

Again, although water is pictured, I didn’t include it in our grocery total.
