Last week I thought I’d have a pantry challenge this week, but then I remembered that I had two potlucks to go to, and we had to make 8 dozen allergen friendly cookies for the girls’ AHG Cookie Sale, so, no pantry challenge this week.  (Quite the opposite, actually!)  Here’s how we are eating healthy gluten free dairy free food on a budget {week 8 of 52}.

And may I take the moment to just say that as much as I like technology, it also drives me crazy.  My flash drive is malfunctioning, so there are no pictures for this post.  Boo!  🙁  But I did want to still post it so I have my numbers for the food budget challenge I’m doing.

Here’s what I bought the week of 12/8 – 12/14:

Azure Standard – $53.20

I bought 25 pounds of gluten free oats, as well as a number of dried herbs and spices in sizes from 4 oz. to 16 oz.

Natural Grocer’s. Sprouts, Trader Joe’s – 72.25

I bought a 5 lb. bag of organic blueberries for $3.88 (sweet!) as well as 4 lbs. of grass fed beef that was $3.99 a pound, some clearance sausage for my husband’s lunches, and other items.

Fry’s – $32.89

Fry’s, Natural Grocer, & Trader Joe’s (Bookworm’s Groceries) – $45

Bookworm also snatched up the blueberries.  He bought 10 lbs. for less than $8 and has made himself baked oatmeal, dairy free yogurt and blueberries, and oatmeal with blueberries.

In addition, he bought several pounds of clearance meat, apples, and yogurt.
