Can I just say, our insurance is screwy?  We get our insurance through my husband’s employer, and right now, his employer is a full 10 to 12 months behind on payments.  That means that all the bills for when I saw the specialist to find out about my leaky gut and all my food intolerances last July through September are coming in now.

I’ve had a few of the bills that I sat on until we had the money, but finally, at the end of October, I paid them all.  The total was nearly $500.  In addition, we had a $350 car repair, so there was no extra money to throw on debt this month.  Still, it feels good to have the first batch of medical bills paid off.

My student loan:  $996.65                     -186.78

Husband’s student loan #1:  $12,858.65               +14.80

Husband’s student loan #2: $16,455.24             +32.30

Total:  $30,310.54                            -139.68

A few notes:

The Negative:

My husband’s student loans going up was the big negative.

The Positive:

My student loan is under $1,000!!!!!  Even though I didn’t make much progress this month, I’m committed to getting my student loan paid off by December 31, 2013, even if it means waiting even longer to get a new computer.  I want that monthly payment gone!

Emergency Fund

Our emergency fund is now at $3,700.

We’ve also begun to set aside money for a vehicle replacement since our van is 9 years old and has 120,000 miles on it.  This fund had $200, but we used that to pay part of our car repair this month.  Now there is $0 there.

When we became Gazelle Intense on October 20, 2011, our balance was $57.966.01.  Since then, we have paid down 47.7% of our debt, or $27,655.47.
