Just like I record weekly how much I have been able to earn for our family in The Saved Quarter Challenge, I am starting a new weekly feature, Debt Free Journey, which will recount what we have paid on our debts in the previous week.
My time is pretty sparse lately with staff writing and my virtual assistant work, but I carved out some time to list holiday items on eBay, and the strategy paid off. After the first week’s auctions and Pay Pal and eBay fee deductions, I pocketed $267.94. I have another group of listings up now, but there seems to be less interest, so I am not sure they will do as well.
Selling clothes on eBay: $267.94
I also sold a size 1 pack of Pampers that my daughter outgrew before we could use them for $10 on Craigslist. My daughter is now almost 19 months, so those diapers have been sitting around our house quite awhile. 🙂 I had a new Gap crib set from my now defunct eBay business that I also sold on Craigslist for $25.
Baby stuff sold on Craigslist: $35.00
We did many different activities this week to find money to snowflake on our debt, and the result was that we were able to snowflake $302.94 this week! In the four weeks since we have gotten gazelle intense, we have “found” $1500.67 to snowflake!

Isn’t it amazing how much you can cut/find if you just focus? Keep up the great work! Dave would be proud!
Good for you! I’ve got a bunch of stuff to put up on eBay, but since I’ve had little success in the past I’m not real motivated to spend the time on it now.
That’s incredible. Could you come over to my house and sell stuff on eBay?
Ha ha. 🙂 It is nice to get rid of the junk though.
Well done – both on eBay and on the money you have ‘snowflaked’. We tried eBay but did not manage to sell a thing and gave up; in retrospect probably prematurely.
Nice to be able to convert some unwanted items to cash isn’t it? I have not tried ebay to sell but given your example I may have to try it!
I had an ebay business for 5 years and just recently closed it. My experience with that, and the fact that I am not out to make a lot of money because I want to get rid of the junk is why I had some success this past week.
Some great ideas… and congratulations on the income. That is an awesome idea with obviously great results.
Congratulations in that big snowball towards your debt! You are rocking it!
Woah! You have “found” $1,500? That is amazing! I am really really shocked. Do you notice a difference in your home yet? like a minimalism sort of thing taking over?
I am surprised too, at the amount. We are no where near minamilists, though I would love to be. We had too much junk to begin with, so we are just starting to look like a normal household again.
