Kelly Lester, a mom of three, actress, and creator of my all time favorite lunch box system that we have used for two years, Easy Lunchboxes, has joined with Trader Joe’s to offer a new cook book, Cooking with Trader Joe’s Cookbook, to cover all topics lunch menu related.
There are several things I love about this cookbook.
First, every recipe has its own glossy, color photo so you can see exactly what you will be cooking, which always makes me want to cook the recipes even more.
Second, there are recipes to suit all different styles and tastes.
Are you or your children gluten free? There are recipes here for you.
Do you enjoy the artistic endeavor of a bento box? There are several pages of cute ideas here for making an adorable bento box.
Are you the kind of mom who doesn’t have a lot of time to pack lunches? If so, there are meal ideas for ready made food that you can buy at Trader Joe’s.
Another nice feature about this cookbook is that there are several contributing authors. For instance, I love the blog 100 Days of Real Food by Lisa Leake because of her emphasis on natural, nutritious foods without artificial colors and ingredients. Leake has 5 recipes in here. Best of all, there are many other contributors, so there is a wide array of foods to try.
I think my kids would enjoy most of these lunches, and I would be happy to know that they are eating such nutritious food.
If you are stuck in a lunch rut, you would probably enjoy this book, and there are recipes in here to suit every palate.

I’ve seen a similar style lunch boxes before at Dollar Tree and hadn’t considered buying them since we already have storage stuff, but I do like how they control the serving sizes of various things. And I bet the kids think they’re fun!
And I love Trader Joe’s. We’re not gluten free, but we are big fans of produce!
I was hoping there’d be a secret giveaway in this post – I guess I’ll be buying this on my own! We just got our first Trader Joe’s around here (I had access to one in college, but not since!), and I love a cookbook with pictures and shopping lists!
I would have loved to have offered a giveaway, but they didn’t have enough. 🙁
