Bookworm has recently expressed an interest in listening to Christian music, and though we have some CDs, he wanted a few more. Luckily, we had the chance to review Chris Tomlin’s new CD, Holy Roar, and it was just what we were looking for.
About Chris Tomlin
Chris Tomlin began writing worship music when he was just 14 years old. He’s now sold more than 8 million albums, and has joined Justin Timberlake, Garth Brooks, and Pitbull as one of only four artists to ever receive the Sound Exchange Digital Radio Award for over one billion digital radio streams. He currently lives in Texas with his wife and two children.
About Holy Roar
This album was both soothing and encouraging to me. The songs are easy to listen to, gentle and uplifting.
Holy Roar is meant to emphasize the wonder of worship and encourages us to see “the church coming together, hands lifted to God, pouring out our praise with an eternal song in our hearts.”
This CD contains 12 tracks:
- Holy Roar,
- Nobody Loves Me Like You,
- Resurrection Power,
- Goodness, Love and Mercy,
- Praise Him Forever,
- Is He Worthy,
- Forever Young,
- I Stand in Awe,
- Praise Is the Highway,
- How Sweet It Is
The song that I enjoyed most was “Goodness, Love and Mercy,” which is an echoing of Psalm 23. It was beautiful and heartfelt.
