You never realize how much a holiday centers around food until you or someone you love has a food intolerance or allergy.
This year, my kids are off gluten and dairy, so finding special Easter treats was a bit more difficult. Luckily, I found Amanda’s Own Confections in Ohio. This fabulous company has many dairy free, gluten free treats!
About Amanda’s Own Confections
Amanda’s Own Confections was started in 2006. The owners’ daughter, Amanda, who is now 12, has a life-threatening allergy to milk. They didn’t want their daughter to miss out on the yummy goodies for Easter and other holidays, so they created their own. Amanda’s Own Confections was created.
All of the company’s products are completely dairy, tree, peanut, egg, and gluten free.
The Delicious Taste!
We received a sitting bunny to review as well as a gold bunny box, and let me tell you, they were delicious. The package came in 2 short days (every order is shipped priority and reaches its destination in 2 to 3 days) and was carefully packed. There was no damage to the bunnies; they were in perfect condition.
When we opened them, we all smelled them first. They smelled so good!
The sitting bunny is solid chocolate, and there is a lot of chocolate there. My son, who was able to eat dairy for 6 years before becoming intolerant, took one bite and said, “It tastes like real chocolate!”
The chocolate doesn’t taste as sickeningly sweet as some traditional chocolates taste. Instead, it has a nice blend of flavors somewhere between dark and milk chocolate. We all enjoyed them.
