I love eMeals. I love the simplicity of having a menu and grocery list already made out for me.
I have tried out several of their plans, but by far, their new Clean Eating Plan is my favorite.
We have dairy and soy intolerances, and because the Clean Eating Plan uses very few processed ingredients, our intolerances don’t pose much of a problem. In any given week there may be one or two recipes that I cannot make or need to substitute ingredients. For instance, last week, there were just two recipes that contained dairy, and both called for Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the top. I simply omitted the Parmesan, and no other changes were required.
Some people have previously complained that they don’t think eMeals’ plans are nutrionally sound, and that complaint may be true with some of their plans, but it is definitely not true with the Clean Eating Plan. One meal last week, The Summer Vegetable Tart, called for zucchini, summer squash, tomatoes and red pepper.
If the recipe does not feature vegetables as the main component, like The Summer Vegetable Tart, than there is a side dish of vegetables such as Ribboned Asparagus Salad or Sweet Potato Fries.
In addition to the ample vegetables on the plan, there are very few processed foods to be bought. Last week, the only processed foods that were required were 1 whole wheat pie crust, polenta and butter. That’s it.
