100_3968Last year I set some lofty goals for myself.  Of course, I didn’t know I’d be homeschooling, so my time was at a premium from August on.  Overall, though, I’m very pleased with the goals we were able to accomplish.

Here’s the final recap:

Pay off my student loan:  Accomplished.  We paid this off mid-December, and I’m so glad to be rid of it!

Reduce our credit card balance to $5,000 :  Accomplished!  We actually completely paid off our credit card balance.

Maintain an emergency fund of $3,000:  Not accomplished.  While we had maintained that balance all year, in December, after my husband’s pay getting docked for 3 months in a row, we finally had to dip into the emergency fund.  It now stands at $2,100.

Apply for another life insurance policy.  Not accomplished.  This goal is also a priority for early 2014.

Make several necessary car repairs (to the tune of $2,000 or so dollars):  Accomplished.  All car repairs are done.

Read 24 books this year.  Accomplished.  I read nearly 30 books this year.  Look for a recap coming soon.

Watch 24 movies this year. Accomplished.  We also watched nearly 30 movies this year..

Lose 20% of my current body weight:  Not accomplished.  I was not able to accomplish this one, so again, it will be a priority in 2014.

Exercise at least 3 times a week:  Not accomplished.  For the first half of the year, I walked my son to school every day.  After June, when school let out, I stopped getting regular exercise and never picked it back up.

Continue to follow my diet and heal my leaky gut.  On target.  My food intolerances have dropped from an all time high of 57 to 35.

Check e-mail no more than 4 times a day:  On target.  I struggled mightily with this the first half of the year, but I got so busy homeschooling that only checking a few times a day became much easier.

Treat my blog like a business:  Not accomplished. I love blogging, but it is still more recreational for me.  When I made this goal, I anticipated having all the kids in school and a few hours of uninterrupted time to work.  ‘nuf said.

Stick to a regular blog schedule:  Accomplished–sort of.  My main goal is to post 4 to 5 times a week, and I was able to do that.  I still haven’t been able to write my posts weeks in advance like I would like to.

Do you set goals?  If so, how did you do in 2013?
