I’ve been homeschooling for six years now, and I still find new curriculum, stores, and websites I have never heard of before.  One of them is Library and Educational Services LLC, which I’m delighted to have found and plan to use again!  We had the privilege to review several of their products including:

  • Who Was Anne Frank?
  • Heroes of Black History (Set of 5 reinforced hardcover, library binding non-fiction books)
  • History’s Greatest Warriors  (Set of 5 reinforced hardcover, library binding non-fiction books)

About the Products We Received

I was delighted with everything we received!

Lifehouse Theater CD – Hiding in Plain Sight

As you know, we’re huge audio book fans, so we lived listening to Lifehouse Theater’s Hiding in Plain Sight.  This audio drama told the story of William and Ellen Craft who escaped slavery in plain sight by taking a train and a boat.  I loved that this was a true story, and even my daughter, who usually doesn’t like audio dramas, really liked this one.  It was 70 minutes long and cost just $9.99

Who Was Anne Frank

Who Was Anne Frank was a short book that intertwined the history of the Nazi regime with the Frank’s life.  The book went into the perfect amount of detail for my 9 and 10 year olds without being too graphic.  This book was only $3.89.

The Who Was books are currently on sale for a limited time for $2.89 and are perfect for 3rd to 7th graders.  There are well over 100 titles in this series, so there are plenty to choose from.

Heroes of Black History – Set of 5 Books

In this set, we received the titles:

  • Martin Luther King Jr.
  • Nelson Mandela
  • Sojourner Truth
  • The Tuskegee Airmen, and
  • W.E.B Du Bois

These were nice reinforced hardcover, library binding non-fiction books full of pictures.  PB & J Girl picked this series and she loved reading these.  This set was $29.93.

History’s Greatest Warriors – Set of 5 Books

In this set, we received the titles:

  • Gladiators: Battling in the Arena
  • Knights: Warriors of the Middle Ages
  • Ninjas: Masters of Stealth and Secrecy
  • Samurai: Warlords of Japan
  • Vikings: Raiders and Explorers

Cuddle Bug, who loves a great superhero story, choose this series, which is for ages 10 to 14.  She really enjoyed the detail in these stories as well as the pictures.  This set was $32.92.  Just like the other set, I was impressed with these books.

Other Items Library and Educational Services LLC Sells

In addition to books and CDs, Library and Educational Services LLC also carries DVDs.  There are plenty of titles including a Geometry Tutoring DVD and one of my favorites, Drive Thru History DVDs.  There are DVDs for all ages and plenty of choices.

All in all, I was happy to discover Library and Educational Services LLC and plan to order from them again.  What a great way to stretch your homeschool dollars!
