My Goals for 2019: Week 3 of 52

This week was much better than last week.  I still haven’t had a week where I accomplished all of my goals, but I’m getting closer, which means I’m improving every week.  Yay for that!

HOMESCHOOL

Use the Barton reading program with one of my dyslexic children 4x a week for at least 45 weeks. 

Yes!  We accomplished this.

HEALTH

Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day six days a week.

This goal is one I’m starting slow with only 5 minutes a day; this week I walked 5 minutes a day 4 days this week.  I’m thinking of buying a pedometer so I can slowly build up and see my progress.  Do you have a pedometer?  If so, is it helpful?

Eat only food made at home with the exception of three times a week.

This one didn’t happen, either.

Practice meditation 4x a week.

So close!!  I did this 3x this week.  I’m using 6 Minute Meditations, but if you have any recommendations for free meditation sites, I’d love to hear which you use!

Learn to eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full.

Working on it.  I started watching YouTube videos on Intuitive Eating.

Eat at least 6 fruits and veggies a day.

Not accomplished this week.  I seem to top out around 4 to 5 fruits and veggies a day.  If I wasn’t eating so many carbs and sugar, there would be room for more fruits and veggies in my diet.

BUSINESS

Blog 3x a week for at least 45 weeks of the year.

Increase my business income by 10%.

The last few weeks my workload has definitely picked up, which helps me get closer to this goal!

HOBBIES

Read at least 30 minutes a day. 

I read for 30 minutes each day for 5 days, and 10 minutes for the 6th day.  You can find my reading progress at my  Goodreads account.  I’d love it if you’d follow me there, and I’d love to follow you if you have a Goodreads account.

FAITH

Read at least 6 religious/spiritual books. 

I’ve picked my first book of the six and have started reading Saint John Paul the Great: His Five Loves by Jason Evert.

Read the Bible in a year.

I was able to do this every day this week except one day when I slept in a little bit (getting up at 5 a.m. instead of 4:30 a.m.)  I decided if I miss a day, I’m not going to push myself to do two days in one.  I’ve never read through the Bible completely before, and I want to enjoy it, not feel like it’s a chore.

NEW GOALS

Raise $1,000 for a trip to Michigan

Thanks to a little bonus from my husband’s work, we were able to put $252.80 in our Michigan fund.  That means we’re already 25% to our goal!

Write one thing I’m grateful for a day

If you haven’t watched this excellent video, which inspired me to write down one grateful thing a day., I highly recommend it.  I didn’t do this at all this week, so this is one goal that I have to put front and center this week.
