Goals for 2018: Week 26 of 52

This week, I tried to take care of myself.  I exercised 6x this week.  (Can you believe it?!)  I decided writing in my journal at night is just not working because I’m way too tired by the time I have time to write, so it just doesn’t get done.  Instead, I started writing in my journal when I wake up in the morning.  Guess what?  With that simple switch, I was able to write in my journal three times this week!

Make Time to Relax

Read a book a week.   I currently have four books that I’m reading–A Casualty of War, Smart but Scattered, No Longer Little, and The Librarian of Auschwitz.  (Am I the only one who is reading several books at a time, or do you do it, too?)  The Librarian of Auschwitz is getting a little too much for me as far as graphic details go, so I had to step away and spend more time reading A Casualty of War.

WriteMy goal was two parts–writing twice in my journal, and write one post for the blog besides the goals post and the book review post.   I wrote three times in my journal and wrote one additional posts to be scheduled over the next few weeks.

Care for Myself

Exercise.  My goal was to exercise 20 minutes this week, and I exercised 77 minutes–60 minutes of walking and 17 minutes of yoga.

Eat only when I’m hungry. This is a struggle, struggle, struggle.

Create a Manageable Schedule for Myself

I have decided that everyone in our family needs a schedule, especially since most kiddos on the spectrum do better with a routine.  I know I’ll have to be flexible for a few weeks, but once we find out about ABA, I’ll be able to make a more concrete schedule.  I finally heard that insurance approved ABA for one of my kiddos.  I’m hoping we can get in this week for an initial assessment, but more likely it will be next week or the week after.  I’m impatient, but I can see that therapy will likely begin in August, so I’m feeling better.  I’m so ready for this child to start therapy, and I really, really hope we see improvements.

Clean Up for 5 Minutes After Kids Are in Bed

I’m reducing this to just 5 minutes a night.  This didn’t happen this week.

Re-establish My Prayer Routine – ACCOMPLISHED!

I have been doing great with this.  I’m marking it as accomplished because I’ve successfully done it the past few weeks, and it’s now become habit for me.

How are you doing on your goals?  I’d love it if you’d share in the comments!
