Goals for 2018: Week 6 of 52


I’m going to be gentle with myself this week because on Tuesday I got my tooth pulled and a bone graft done.  This Thursday, I’ll hopefully get out the stitches.  I don’t know yet what the next step in the process is.  Also, both girls were sick this week–PB & J Girl for two days and Cuddle Bug for four days, so all in all, it was an off week.

As a reminder, here are my January goals and my added new goal.

Make Time to Relax

Read a book a week.  I started and finished The Reader, so this upcoming week, I have to decide what new book to read.  Have you read any good books lately?  I’d love some recommendations!


Write. I didn’t write in my journal last week.

I noticed that I’m slacking on this goal, so I’m going to put special attention on it next week.

Care for Myself

Exercise.  No exercise this week.

Manage my sugar cravings. Duh, duh, duh, dum.  I accept it.  I have to give up sugar.  I think I’ll start doing that for Lent and just keep it going after Easter.

Create a Manageable Schedule for Myself

We implemented a new chore chart, and until the girls got sick, it was going great.  We’ll see how it goes for a full week this week.

Re-establish My Prayer Routine

I said my morning prayers every day this week.  I’m also saying my basic night prayers.  I’ve decided that for Lent I’ll add a rosary every night.

Make $25 a Month on Swagbucks

I think I might have been overly ambitious with this goal.  I started at 214 Swagbucks, and now I’m at 543, so I have earned 329 Swagbucks in the last three weeks.  I’m excited by the progress,  but I’m going to have to spend more time on this to get the 2,200 I need to get a $25 Amazon gift card.

  1. Good morning! Hope your mouth is feeling much better now. I’ve noticed that your journaling has not been a priority, but you do blog, so maybe that counts a little?
    Do you use money back grocery apps? I think Fetch would be a good one for you to look into. 🙂

    • Thanks for the comments. I do agree that my journal writing took a back seat to blogging, but you’re also right that I’m not making it a priority. Time to make a change. I haven’t heard of Fetch. I’ll look into it.

  2. I really enjoyed the book “The Two-Family House” by Lynda Cohen Loigman. I think you would like it. It’s the first novel by this author. I really enjoy your blog!

  3. I am doing well on the new WW Freestyle. I am down 10 pounds since Christmas.
