VeggieTales Every Day with God: 365 Daily Devos for Girls: A Review and Giveaway

Our girls love watching VeggieTales, so I was excited to have PB & J Girl (7.5) try out the new book, Every Day with God: 365 Daily Devos for Girls ($9.99).

This sweet book has a pink cover and features two girls on the cover.  Inside are 365 devotionals, one for each day of the year.  Each page includes a Bible verse, a simple explanation of the verse, a Thought of the Day and a prayer to say related to the bible verse.  All of the pages have bright, wide-eyed characters on them.

Although marketed for girls 4 to 7 years old, I think it could easily be used by girls up to 9 years old.  At 384 pages, there is plenty of information here, and over the course of a year, your child could learn a great deal from this book.

Even better, this book can help your child with character development.  For instance, on Day 73, the verse is, “Do not be lazy but work hard, serving the Lord with all your heart” Romans 12:11.  The analysis of this reminds children how important it is to serve others and then gives suggestions for serving others such as helping a friend with her homework or writing a letter to someone in your family whom you don’t see very often.

PB & J Girl loved this devotional.  I would frequently find her reading it in the  morning before breakfast, which is a great habit.  She also liked to try to memorize the scripture verses, which is another good habit to develop.
