Menu Planning for March 2, 2013

We are experimenting with different gluten free breakfasts.  Here are some recipes we are going to try this week:

Baked Oatmeal

Homemade Grape Nuts Cereal

Also, I was subscribing to eMeals‘ Paleo plan, but since my family is not eating strictly Paleo and my diet is too restrictive for that eMeals plan right now, I decided to switch to the gluten free plan.  (I’ll write a review of it after we have used it for awhile.)

Here’s the plan for the week:

For the Family (Gluten Free & Dairy Free)

Saturday
LunchSouthwestern Soup
DinnerJamie Oliver’s spaghetti sauce with scallops and gluten free pasta

Sunday
Lunch–Ribs, cauliflower, leftover spaghetti squash with beans
Dinner–Black Eyed Peas and Ham Hocks

Monday
Pesto, Pea and Corn Pasta Salad (from eMeals‘ gluten free plan)

Tuesday
Taco Soup, Island Guacamole

Wednesday
Cabbage & Beef Soup, gluten free bread with garlic butter

Thursday
Hamburger Soup

Friday
Skillet Ginger & Apricot Tilapia (eMeals), mixed vegetables

My Plan (Paleo Auto Immune Protocol)

I’m still experimenting with taking foods high in histamine out of my diet, including my beloved avocados.  For the week that I’ve been doing this, my throat is much better.  The few times I have noticed a problem with my throat, it was because I ate a food from the refrigerator that was a few days old, which is a no-no.  This week, I’m going to try to eat everything fresh or from the freezer.  If I don’t have any problems, I’ll have a pretty good inkling that high histamine food is the problem.  If I continue to have throat issues, well, it’s back to the drawing board.
