I am coming up on the 1 year anniversary of the beginning of our gazelle intensity when paying down our debt. While our intensity has come to a halt thanks to some hefty medical bills and a $500 cut in my husband’s pay this month and next month (but that is a separate post), we were still able to accomplish quite a bit in a year’s time on a limited income.
How did we make progress? In small steps. In the beginning, I returned some items I didn’t need and hadn’t opened and got some money back. It went right on our debt snowball. All the loose change went in a jar and was snowflaked periodically. I had the good luck to find some cash in my winter coat pocket when I took it out for the season, and that went straight to debt.
Little by little, the amounts added together made an impact, and the amount we paid off began to grow.
Every dollar helps.
Once you have paid down your debt, apply the same principle and discipline to saving money and growing wealth.
Every dollar helps.
That is why I am so happy to join up with other bloggers to offer a debt snowflake giveaway.
Enter to win for your chance to win a $25 PayPal deposit or gift card or one of 5 $5 PayPal deposits or gift cards.

I save 5 cents every time I bring my own bag to the grocery store. I typically use about 3-4 bags per trip!
To save small amounts of money I do surveys online and use swagbucks for my searches.
I have followed your example and have been able to pay extra car payments at least once a month AND an extra payment to our IRA. It’s difficult to see the change at first but every little helps. I would love to win a paypal gift card. I would use it for part of my christmas giving .
You are so right that every little bit helps. It all adds up over time.
we brown bag lunch, rarely eat out, and look for free or cheap forms of entertainment
i make my coffee at home, and use my crockpot a lot so I’m not as tempted to go out to eat at the end of the day
Love the crockpot!
We have a jar that we put our extra change into at the end of the day. Even the kids have been known to contribute!
We are trying to pay our own debt and get into a better financial position. Every penny counts these days!
I use coupons at stores and take the amount that I saved and put it in a jar. You’d be surprised how fast it adds up.
I use coupons
we don’t have cable or a home phone. grow our own vegetables
I meal-plan around the sales and then use a coupon datebase to quickly locate, pull, and clip the coupons I need.
I am saving change in a jar
I coupon, & use loyalty cards that give % – off @ next visit, etc. (Holly) Thanks for the chance….
We definitely need to find some ways to become gazelle intense…this would be a nice start!
