Debt Free Journey Update #8

Just like I record weekly how much I have been able to earn for our family in The Saved Quarter Challenge, I am starting a new weekly feature, Debt Free Journey, which will recount what we have paid on our debts in the previous week.

This week was another goo week of snowflaking!

I sold our portable dishwasher because our new apartment has a built-in one.  I started the listing on Craigslist at $225, but didn’t get any good offers until I dropped the price down to $150.

Selling our dishwasher on Craigslist: $150.00

I took on a new virtual assistant job recently, and since that is extra money that we don’t technically need to make our monthly budget, I decided that all money I make from that particular job will be snowflaked.

Virtual assistant job: $70

We did many different activities over the last week to find money to snowflake on our debt, and the result was that we were able to snowflake $220  since my last report a week ago! In the last nine weeks since we have gotten gazelle intense, we have “found” $3662 to snowflake!

  1. Great job… but shouldn’t your total be $220 and not $150? Don’t short change yourself!

  2. I love selling things on Craigslist. It’s a great way to sell things you don’t use anymore.

  3. Melissa, I’m a sucker for updates….. debt, net worth, you name it!! You’ll be debt free in no time. Great effort! and Happy Holidays.

  4. I have got to get listing on Craigslist! Your debt will be gone before you know it!

  5. Bet that dishwasher money came in handy for xmas!

    Congrats on the $150 !

  6. way to go! i also love the updates.

Where do you get virtual assistant work?
