I had a nice freezer cooking plan made out for this month, but it didn’t go quite as planned. That’s okay, though. Everything still was completed, though not in the order I had planned.
I know some people are intimidated by the freezer cooking day itself, so I thought I would share how my day went this past Saturday when I had my freezer cooking day.
8:05 a.m. Chop veggies (I like to do this the day before, but it did not happen this time.)
8:25 a.m. Take a break to feed the baby and put her down for her morning nap.
8:40 a.m. Begin to prep the Pork Roast
8:50 a.m. Put the Pork Roast in the oven
8:55 a.m. Taco Chicken is in the slow cooker
9:02 a.m. Beef is on the stove to brown for Sloppy Joe recipe
9:32 a.m. Made the Marinade for chicken while beef was browning. Put the chicken with marinade over it in three bags for three different meals and place in the freezer.
9:46 a.m. Out of ketchup!! Sloppy Joe progress is halted.
9:55 a.m. Begin to shred the crab for Crab Cakes
10:05 a.m. Take a break to watch kids while husband gets ready to go to the store
10:20 a.m. Back to work making Crab Cakes
11:12 a.m. Crab Cakes are finished. I have also cooked up some for lunch. (Yum!)
11:15 a.m. Husband is back from the store, and Sloppy Joes are cooking on the stove again
11:20 a.m. Take a break to eat lunch
11:50 a.m. Back to work. Making Italian Wedding Soup
12:20 p.m. Italian Wedding Soup is done. Sloppy Joes are done.
12:40 p.m. Hamburger patties are done
12:45 p.m. Clean up and run the dishwasher
12:55 p.m. Take a break and feed the baby
1:30 p.m. Back to work. Pack up Sloppy Joes, shred the chicken from the slow cooker, take the pork roast out of the oven. Begin to make the cornbread.
1:55 p.m. Cornbread is in the oven
2:00 p.m. Clean up a bit and work on making Zucchini Bread
2:30 p.m. Cornbread is out of the oven and Zucchini Bread goes in.
2:50 p.m. Start to work on the Breakfast Tortilla Wraps
2:55 p.m. Zuchinni Bread is out of the oven. Continue to clean up the kitchen while the eggs are cooking.
4:00 p.m. Sausage Breakfast Tortilla Wraps are completed and kitchen is cleaned.
I was in the kitchen roughly 8 hours, but I had 4 breaks for a total of 1.5 hours. So, I only had hands on work time of prepping, cooking or cleaning for 6.5 hours.
For my effort, I have 22 meals. That equals roughly one meal made every 17 minutes (and clean up time is included in that). I know I can’t make a meal on the week night and clean up in 17 minutes. Although the day is tiring, I consider this one of the most fruitful ways to spend 6.5 hours.

I am committed to trying this. I’ll be gone this weekend, but may spend Tuesday or Wednesday planning a menu based on some of your recipes & some of mine.
You’ve really inspired me, so I appreciate it!
Mimi

I love your timeline. I’m pretty OCD and love to have it listed like this
Your plan sounds good
